Move from a paper stamp card to YourLoop

The rules of your card do not have to change — only where it lives. The plan is simple: rebuild the same offer in YourLoop, put the join QR code on the counter, and for a few weeks carry each customer's paper stamps across when they next visit.

One thing to know before you start: there is no bulk import of paper stamps. A member of staff adds them at the counter, one tap per stamp, while the customer is there. It takes a few seconds and it is the only honest way to do it.

The switchover

  1. 1

    Rebuild the same card

Create a stamp card with the same number of stamps and the same reward as the paper one. Keep them identical: a customer six stamps into a ten-stamp card should be six stamps into the new one, with the same prize at the end.

  2. 2

    Print the join QR

In the dashboard, download the customer join QR as a PNG and print it for the counter. A small stand next to the till is enough. The same QR can go on a table card or a sticker by the door.

  3. 3

Pick a date and tell the team

From that date, every new customer joins on the QR. Customers with a paper card keep using it until they come in, and then they are moved across. Two to four weeks of accepting both is usually enough.

  4. 4

Move a customer across at the counter

When a customer arrives with a paper card: they scan the join QR with their phone camera, fill in the short form and add the card to their wallet — about a minute. Staff then scan the new card's QR in the scanner and tap “Add stamp” once for each stamp on the paper card. Then take the paper card. If someone taps one too many, “Undo” removes the last stamp.

  5. 5

    A full paper card

If a customer arrives with a completed paper card, give the reward as you always have, then have them join and start the new card from zero. There is no need to stamp a full card into the app just to redeem it.

What to tell staff

Three things. The customer joins on their own phone — staff cannot enrol someone from the till, because the pass has to be added by the phone that will hold it. One tap adds one stamp, so count the paper stamps out loud as you tap. And the paper card is taken once its stamps are moved, so nobody is stamped twice.

What not to expect

Stamps are never added automatically. A visit, a purchase or walking past the door records nothing; a member of staff has to scan the card and tap. That is by design — it is what stops a card being stamped from the car park.

Customers need a phone with Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. A customer without a smartphone cannot hold the card; whether you keep a few paper cards for them is your decision.

Common questions

Can I import my paper stamps in bulk?
No. Stamps are added by staff in the scanner, one tap each, up to the card's total, while the customer is present.
Does the customer need to download anything?
No. The card is saved to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet from the join page. There is no app.
How long does moving one customer take?
About a minute for the customer to join and add the card, then a few seconds for staff to tap the stamps across.
What if I want a different reward on the new card?
You can, but tell customers clearly before the switch, and honour any paper card that was already close to complete under the old rules.
